This could be considered as a warning sign. Another thing I notice is that when the woman screams the audience start to question what is going on, however when the man screams it’s almost as if the zombies have stripped him of his masculinity. This further suggests that zombies (similar to vampires) are a sexual representations which could link to religious points of all. "It will consume us all" frightens us because we are scared of what we have no control over "accurate vision...the mindless excess of our society" is said when the zombies grab the woman’s jewellery this links to consumerism.
