For A2 I am creating a media horror teaser trailer. Digital media technology is what we use on a day to day basis for example I am using software such as final cut pro and logic pro where I have learned valuable skills for example I can use transitions such as fade and cut which makes the scenes look more mysterious and it builds up tension as the fade to black switch to cuts especially at the montage for quick and snappy scenes. I also used effects and tools such as blade in order to create jump cuts which are used when the camera cuts away to create a more dramatic scene and it causes the audience to question what just happened.In addition making the shots faster or cut out the sections which are not beneficial to my trailer.

Vampires/Werewolves Subgenre The first vampire movie was Nosferatu directed F. W. Murnauin 1922 is a present day twilight. Unlike other vampire horror films this film was displayed in black and white, as well as being a silent horror film which is not a key convention used in todays society. Rather the normal codes and conventions used in vampire/werewolf horror films are blood which connotes danger and mystery, teeth which can be viewed as phallic objects as they penetrate the skin to show a sexual representation as most vampires are males and this suggests male domination and authority (patriarchy). In addition the victim is usually helpless and a female(lack of femininity). Scenery is also an important factor due to the fact that vampires traditionally come out in the dark; which is a significant factor as darkness(mostly a gothic setting) connotes lack of rest, evil and death which is important when looking and conventions of vampires as they are the living dead.
